Same reason I made StudyLab in the first place. Ads.
My kids just wanted to play a simple puzzle. So we tried a few of the free ones you find online. Every couple of minutes, everything stops — watch this video, tap here, buy this, no thanks, close the little X in the corner that's deliberately hard to find. For a young child, it's confusing, and the fun drains right out of it.
So one weekend I built one. It's called Block Lab. You drag the shapes onto the board and fill a row or column to clear it. That's the whole game.
No ads. No sign-up. No timer nagging your child to hurry. Nothing to buy, ever. It remembers one thing — your best score — and it keeps that on your own device, not on any server. There's nothing else to it, and that's on purpose.
It isn't meant to replace practice. It's a brain break. Play a few rounds, then go back to maths or English, or just enjoy the puzzle. Up to you and your child.
It's free, and it'll stay free. If your kids enjoy it, that's enough for me. And if you spot something wrong or have an idea, there's a feedback button on every page — it comes straight to me.
