Her friends have started playing too

Two small things happened today, and both made me smile.

First, I realised I had forgotten something. The maths and English stars have always counted on the score chart — but Block Lab, the little block puzzle, didn't. So I fixed it. A best score in Block Lab now shows up on the same chart, which means the kids can compare that too, not just their sums.

The part I didn't expect to feel

Second — and this is the one that got me — my daughter's classmates have started coming online to play. Seeing their nicknames appear next to hers on the chart was quietly the whole point of building this, and now it's actually happening.

I'm excited for the days ahead: watching them play, compare scores, and nudge each other along. A bit of friendly competition, no ads, nothing trying to sell them anything — just kids practising together.

What I'm thinking about next

What I really want now is more ways for them to do something meaningful together — not only side by side on a leaderboard, but properly with each other. I'm still thinking it through and gathering ideas, and I'd rather get it right than rush it.
